Description: Support for pregnant women and partners to become smokefree. Smokechange takes a step by step approach . We work with peoples own goal and realities for a safer start to life for their babies. Support is usually 6 - 8 contacts spread over 3 - 6 months and offered as a mix of home visits, telephone calls texting and / or email.

Dewscription: PEGS is a smoking cessation service provided by over 100 General Practice teams in Christchurch, Lyttleton and the Selwyn District. The GP teams provide behavioural advice, quitting strategies, encouragement and support, subsidised NRT patches and / or gum, and ongoing follow-up and relapse prevention. The PEGS programme is tailored to individual need but typically people in the programme will return to the practice weekly or fortnightly for ongoing advice and support. The programme costs $2.50 per week, although there may be additional consultation costs which are variable depending on the practice visited.
