Description: Aukati KaiPaipa is a FREE Smoking Cessation Programme specifically designed for Maori Women and their Whanau. It involves intensive quit coach counseling where quit coaches are required to work one on one / face to face with clients in their homes, work places or where ever both parties agree to. It is a 12 month long term intervention programme. Clients should expect to see a quit coach once a week for the first 3 or 4 months and once a month thereafter. AKP provides Nicotine Replacement Therapy in the form of patches and gum. Non Maori are welcome to join the programme.

Description: The Can Quit Support Programme includes one 90-minute session a week for 6 weeks. It provides information, techniques and support within a positive and friendly group environment. Designed and evaluated by the Cancer Society, the programme is presented in a semi-structured format in an interactive style. Each participant is encouraged to approach their quitting effort in their own individual way. Subsidised nicotine patches and gum are available to those who qualify through this programme. More...
